There is no balance on my gift card, what now?

There are several reasons why you don't see a balance on your gift card. The fact that you don't see a balance does not always mean that there is no balance on the gift card!

  1. The most important thing is that you activate it after receiving your gift card. For security reasons, gift cards are usually sent without value and you must activate the gift card upon receipt.
  2. You activated your gift card less than 2 hours ago. Due to the processing time in the systems, it can take longer (especially in the holiday month of December) before the systems of the card issuer are updated and the balance is visible.
  3. You have already spent the amount on your gift card.
  4. There is a malfunction in the gift card system. Current malfunctions of which we are aware can be found here (in Dutch).

If you see the error message 'The card has already been activated, or no order with this card number is known to us on the activation page.' then the gift card is most likely already activated. Wait a while and then check the gift card issuer's balance checker. there is likely to be a delay in the systems.
